INTRODUCTION
This chapter gives an overview of the commoner systemic therapies used in dermatology, but it is not intended to be exhaustive. The emphasis is on the indications and side effects of drugs used to treat inflammatory dermatoses; some of the less commonly used agents are included if they have an important role for specific conditions, or where they have important side effects. It should be borne in mind that many such uses are unlicensed (off label). Some drugs are discussed more fully in other chapters.
