CLINICAL FEATURES

    The clinical features of endocarditis caused by members of the HACEK group are identical to the clinical features of IE caused by more typical pathogens, with two exceptions. First, HACEK cases appear culture negative initially. Second, HACEK group infections are often complicated by large bulky vegetations.
