Tips for Best Viewing the Site
BROWSER PRIVACY AND SECURITY SETTINGS
MerckMedicus works best with Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher. Other browsers may not display all content and images on the site correctly.
In order for you to access third-party content such as Harrison's Online or for MerckMedicus to remember your username (if you have checked the Remember me box), your browser privacy and security settings must be set appropriately.

- Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher
Click Tools in your menu bar. Choose Internet Options at the bottom of the drop-down menu. Click on the Privacy tab in the pop-up window. Make sure that the slider is set to Medium-High or lower.
- Firefox 1.5 and higher
Click Tools in your menu bar. Choose Options... in the drop-down menu. Click on Privacy at the top of the pop-up window, then choose Cookies from the tabs below. Check the box in front of Allow sites to set cookies. Do not check the box in front of For the originating site only, as you will not be able to access Harrison's Online and other third-party content from MerckMedicus. In the drop down menu, choose to Keep Cookies until they expire.
- Netscape 8.0 and higher
Click Tools in your menu bar. Choose Options... in the drop-down menu. Under Site Controls, click on Security and Privacy. Under Web Features, make sure that you check the boxes in front of Allow images to be displayed, Allow cookies, and Enable JavaScript. Do not check the box in front of For the originating site only (for images or cookies), as you will not be able to access Harrison's Online and other third-party content from MerckMedicus.

Viewing animations/Listening to Podcasts
If animations are not displayed or are displayed without sound, you may be using an older version of the Flash® Player. You should install the latest version of Adobe® Flash® Player for your operating system. This is a free download.

If you are having difficulty viewing video on this site, you may need to install the latest version of the RealPlayer® for your operating system.
JavaScript
MerckMedicus, like many Web sites, uses a computer programming language called JavaScript that runs inside your browser. JavaScript is used to validate that fields in a form contain appropriate values or to perform calculations. However, JavaScript must be enabled in order to be used. If your computer is part of a network at an organization such as a school or a business, your organization's system administrator might have disabled or removed certain settings.
- Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher
Click Tools in your menu bar. Choose Internet Options at the bottom of the drop-down menu. Click on the Advanced tab in the pop-up window. Scroll down until you see the heading Java (Sun). Check the box that appears under this heading. Sometimes you will receive a message that a "script error" has occurred. Click the Refresh button at the top of your browser (or press F5). If the error persists, click No to ignore the error.
- Firefox 1.5 and higher
Click Tools in your menu bar. Choose Options... in the drop-down menu. Click on Content at the top of the pop-up window. Make sure the box in front of Enable JavaScript/VBScript is checked.
- Netscape 8.0 and higher
Click Tools in your menu bar. Choose Options... in the drop-down menu. Under Security and Privacy, click on Site Controls. Under Web Features, make sure that you check the boxes in front of Enable JavaScript.
