About Us & Our Content Providers

About Merck MedicusTM

Merck Medicus is a medical information portal designed specifically for US health care providers from students to practicing professionals. It contains no drug advertising or product promotion. The purpose of Merck Medicus is to provide breaking medical news, a wide variety of scientific learning resources, and helpful diagnostic tools and patient education, all with no subscription or registration fees. Merck Medicus is not intended to replace the physician-patient relationship, nor to replace the personal judgment of physicians, but to help support their clinical and professional needs.

Merck launched Merck Medicus in 2001, a portal that Merck owns and operates, as part of our century-long commitment to providing independent health information as a public service to health care professionals, which began with the publication of the first edition of The Merck Manual in 1899.
